Storytelling at
The Dryad Inn

Somerset's Pop-up Pub

A busy evening at The Dryad Inn

The Dryad Inn is a travelling public house of no fixed abode, founded by Becky Wright, innkeeper and master distiller of Dryad Gin.

The Dryad is named after the nymph spirits who guard the ancient woodlands, and wherever the inn appears you can expect a night of joyful revelry as we all mischievously move between worlds. Armed with fairy lights, toadstools, and playful Dryad spirit, the Dryads transform village halls into mystical pop-up pubs with the help of a merry band of volunteers, bringing fine folk together for evenings punctuated by laughter and libations. They invite creative play, local beer sellers, pizzas and the very best of local tastes and flavours. Sip seasonal cocktails, eat delicious food, nurse a Dryad Gin, cider or soft drink, and spin yarns with friends old and new.

Whenever and wherever The Dryad Inn appears, there is always a brief period between the transformation of the venue into a pub, and the opening of the bar. Dan is delighted to have been invited to fill this liminal time with a performance of tales, at the the following dates and venues:

15th March 2025: Lydeard St Lawrence Village Hall, Somerset.

16th  August 2025: Ash Priors Village Hall, Somerset.

Each evening from 6pm, Dan will be sharing traditional tales and folk stories from around the world, loosely themed around drinking, its dangers and delights!

As these are community events, there is no need to book and no entry fee, Dan will be performing free of charge. Donations to BLABBERMOUTH, however, are always gratefully received and can be made on the evening.
